Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS FRANCIS BOHM
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and our best and dearest friend, Tom.
Born in Langruth, MB, Tom grew up on the family farm but wanted to be a mechanic; he loved working with his hands. He went to Red River and earned his First-Class Mechanic’s License and worked on many projects, his first being the construction of the Power Dam in Grand Rapids. He worked for the City of Winnipeg and became the shop foreman for the Fleet division where he eventually retired. He really enjoyed his work and made many great friends along the way.
Tom met his wife Louise on a blind date that was arranged by Joe Strupko at the family farm and the beautiful story of Tom and Louise began 59 years ago. Tom enjoyed working on the family house and yard that he and his wife built as well as fixing cars at home. They spent many years building and making their home beautiful together, while raising their boys. They also had a family farm where many summers were spent. And, through it all, he could always be found wearing his work boots, grey pants, green work shirt, or blue coveralls even on the hottest of days. Tom loved his family and also spent time travelling, fishing, camping, puttering or just going for coffee with them. His most recent family trips included Hawaii and Disney World.
Tom was predeceased by his father Thomas Bohm (1963), mother Mary (1970), sister Anne (2004), nephew Ryan (2017), and is survived by his wife Louise, sons, Tom (Sheila) and Glen (Buntha), grandchildren, Malia, Malika, Hanna and Maximus, brother Jim Bohm (Maureen) and their family, along with many nieces and nephews and friends
Our hearts are forever saddened by Tom’s passing but his memory, and quirky sayings, will live with us forever.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April. 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for taking care of him.
In lieu of flowers in Tom's memory, donations can be made to the Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
