Gordon grew up in the Wolseley area, attending Wolseley, Laura Second Schools, and Gordon Bell High School.

During his working years, Gordon was employed by CAS Winnipeg, the Social Planning Council and the United Way of Winnipeg. At the time of retirement, Gordon was employed by the Manitoba Government in the Department of Culture, Heritage, and Recreation.
Throughout his lifetime, Gordon was active in the Anglican Church, serving in all aspects of parish life at St. Matthews, and as Lay Delegate of Synod for many years in Diocese of Rupert’s Land. He cared deeply about the church and its people, and he had friends throughout the diocese from Synod connections. When able, Gordon attended worship with St. Matthew's in the morning, and Emmanuel Mission worship in the Dinka language in the afternoon. He was a great friend to the Emmanuel Mission congregation, from the time the newly-arrived Sudanese members first joined St. Matthew's, to the last days of his life.
The family would like to thank home care for their support which enabled Gordon to remain in his own home. Grateful thanks to the Reverend Abraham Monybony Chuol and the Emmanuel Mission congregation for their loving friendship.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at St. John’s Cathedral, 135 Anderson Ave., Winnipeg MB. Reception following the committal with light refreshments served at the Cathedral Hall.

Gordon and I were colleagues and friends. We worked together in the Gov’t Dept of Culture and Multiculturalism. We remained friends and kept in touch until his passing. We recently had one our long visits for which I’m so grateful. Gordon will not be forgotten. He cared for many especially new Canadians. You will be severely missed, Gordon!
