Janet Beatrice Lundman, beloved aunt, stepmother, friend, and neighbour died peacefully at the age of 93 on the morning of Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria.
Janet was born on August 3, 1930, in Winnipeg, MB, the youngest child of Ralph and Beatrice Moore. She grew up in River Heights in Winnipeg, MB and trained as a nurse at the Winnipeg General Hospital. Her adventurous spirit led her to leave her prairie home to work in various parts of North America and travel the world. She took up teaching, which brought her home to Winnipeg for a time. Here she reconnected with her love of the prairies and met and married Lennart Lundman. They spent many wonderful summers together at Granite Lake, entertaining family and friends.
They retired to Victoria, BC and were there for a short time before Lennart passed. Janet found her niche in Cook Street Village as a counsellor, writer, and active community volunteer. Janet’s sharp wit and sense of humour electrified every conversation she was a part of. She will be remembered by everyone she met as a fierce advocate for justice who invited critical thought and dialogue. Her many written works are a reflection of her deep curiosity about human nature and family ties.
She was predeceased by her husband Lennart Lundman, her parents, Ralph and Bea Moore, her siblings, Peggy Bell (Doug), Betty Hayes, and Fred Moore (Anne), her stepson Gary Lundman, and her former husband James Romeyn. She leaves behind countless admiring friends and family members.
An informal celebration of her life will be held in her Victoria home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Ryszard Winski at 250-385-4544.

The Lundman’ were dear friends of Eve and Harold Christie and the Christie Clan. When we drive by their cottage we still call in the Lundman cottage. Many fond memories of both Lennart and Janet. Janet was always a force to be reckoned with and a wonderful conversationalist. Smart as a wit and always had many laughs together with the Christie Clan around the organ. A life well lived life and well accomplished in the community and then some. Hope you track the gang down and have a Granite Lake reunion. ❤️🙏😇 - Posted by: Barb and Dave Christie (Family Friend) on: Apr 06, 2024
