LAURA DE BEER
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Oma, Laura De Beer. Laura passed peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Laura will be lovingly missed by her children, Harry (Debbie), Wilma (Hilary), Mary-Anne (Ted), Larry (Bernadine), and Donna (Larry); eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Laura was predeceased by her husband, Henk; her parents, Wilhelmina and Laurentius; her youngest son, Mike; as well as by her daughter-in-law Cindy.
Laura was born in Noorden Zuid in the Netherlands and was the third youngest in a family of 11 girls and two boys. Laura journeyed to Canada in 1955 with her sweetheart, Henk. They made their home in Swan Lake and later in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Laura loved her family, gardening, and fishing and dedicated her life to all three. She will be remembered for her work as a nurse’s aide and as a homemaker, two of her many talents and interests.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Saint Timothy’s Parish, 135 John Forsyth Road, Winnipeg, with reception to follow. Private interment for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice
