SHEILA JEAN FAY
It is with heavy and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sheila Fay on Saturday March 30, 2024 at Health Sciences Centre after a very quick battle with cancer.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Cameron (fiancée Tara), her grandchildren, Olivia (Zahed), Madison, Brady and Corbin, also her brother, David Masterton (June) along with numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and relatives.
Sheila was pre-deceased by her husband, David “Bud” Fay, by her parents, John and Elizabeth Masterton as well as her younger sister, Margaret Redlick.
Sheila was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 29, 1946. She immigrated to Canada in 1966 with her mum and sister following other family to Winnipeg. There she met David and they were married in 1973. Cameron was born in 1975 and the family resided in North Kildonan where she lived in the family home until her passing.
Sheila balanced have a great career and being a mum in days when that wasn’t as common. She loved providing for her son and friends and for family events. And in later years, always attending her grandkids recitals and sporting events. They were her everything. Even taking care of her grand puppies who loved their time with Grandma.
She missed her Bud dearly and is now reunited with him and others recently lost.
The family would like to thank the staff on GH5 at Health Sciences for the care they gave Sheila and the family in her last days.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Avenue on Wednesday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sheila’s memory to CancerCare or charity of your choosing.
