With heavy hearts we share the passing of much beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather in Maple Ridge, BC.
Son of Elis (born in Olafsvik, Iceland) and Anne Brandson and big brother to sisters Judy, and Corinne. As a youth growing up in Winnipeg Wayne delivered newspapers for Winnipeg Free Press with his beloved dog “Teddy.” Wayne was also active in Air Cadets and later joined the Army reserve.
While working at Canadian Indemnity in the early 1960s he met the love of his life his future wife Valerie. They married in September 18,1965. Their first son Grant was born in 1966. In 1968 Wayne became a Registered Industrial Accountant. Wayne became active in the Lions club and they braved the far north to Thompson where their second son Christopher was born in 1970. The family then moved to the warmer climate of Bermuda.
Wayne worked as a controller for the King Edward Hospital 1970 to 1974. He then became Vice-President for Fidelity Management. Wayne was always cheerful, smiling and his eyes would light up like a Christmas tree every time he saw his granddaughters, Kaela and Jayne.
Dad you will always be in our thoughts and hearts. We love you so much.
It is at this time that we would like to recognize the kindness and compassion of Dr. Barkley at Eagle Ridge Hospital, the professionalism of attending BC paramedics and the professional staff at McKenny Creek Hospice.
