WERNER NEUFELD
Werner Neufeld, 66 years of age, passed on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Riverview Health Centre.
Werner was born on September 6, 1957, in Filadelfia, Fernheim Colony, Paraguay. He was the first of four boys and a girl born to parents Anny and Franz Neufeld. He spent his early years in Auhagen, Paraguay, before immigrating with his family to Canada in 1967, and settling in Winnipeg.
Werner married Betty Neufeld (née Sudermann), in 1981 at First Mennonite Church in Winnipeg, and two children were born from this union. He began working at Simcoe Motors in 1983, before eventually taking it over with Betty in 1991 and ultimately selling the business in 2011.
He was an outgoing person who connected with many people throughout every aspect of his life, and he took great enjoyment from helping as many of these connections as he could. He had a passion for cars, and loved spending time in the heat, whether that was at his cottage in Grand Marais, or travelling to his second home in Phoenix with his family and friends.
Werner was predeceased by his mother Anny, father-in-law Henry Sudermann, and mother-in-law Margita Sudermann. He is survived by his father Franz, his loving wife Betty, son Jason (Brianna), daughter Nicole (Cody), five grandchildren, Drew, Blake, Ellie, Hunter, and Chase, as well as his brothers, niece and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Douglas Mennonite Church on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. (In typical Werner fashion, the dress code will be casual).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Cardiac Care at the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation (stbhf.ca) or the charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

Three generations of our family frequented Simcoe Motors. Starting with Ed Deibert and Henry Sudermann, then me Kathy (Deibert) Murdoch and then my son, Devon Murdoch. Werner kept our vehicles well maintained and on the road. He also advised us of what was ahead. A family orientated company. The Peace of the Lord be with you Betty, Jason, Nicole and families. - Posted by: Kathy & David Murdoch (Simcoe Customers) on: Apr 28, 2024

Sympathy to Betty, Jason and Nicole on Werner’s passing. Sat through many a hockey game or practise together, with Jason and Harlo on the ice. Great memories that you all can hold on to. - Posted by: Barbara Larkin (Hockey Parent) on: Apr 25, 2024
