We are saddened to announce the passing of Gail Deljean Cloutier on April 27, 2024. Surrounded by her loving family, Gail died peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital.
Born in St. Boniface on January 23, 1944, to Jean (Smith) and Lionel Warren, Gail was the eldest of three siblings: Grant (Janet) and Gloria (Brian Locke). Gail's life was deeply enriched by her 52-year marriage to her soulmate, Jean, who predeceased her.
After moving from the city to the Cloutier farm, Gail wholeheartedly adopted farm life. She and Jean raised three children - Mark (Anne Lavigne), Michelle (1966 - 1993), and Tracy Burston (Howard). Gail's love for her family was boundless, and she treasured her role as a grandmother to James (Melanie Fontaine), Amanda (Raymond Abrams), Taylor-Anne, Kevin (Shani Savage), and Colin (Randi Marcon). She was a proud great-grandmother to nine (Aiden, Arwyn, Gwendolyn, Elizabeth, Benjamin, TJ, Jackson, Lionel, and Harlee).
Gail's passions included talking, cooking, painting, knitting, and reading. She loved to travel and was skilled at making lifelong friends. Her selflessness was evident in her significant contributions to the community, particularly her 20 year service as a volunteer in the St. Boniface Palliative Care Ward. Gail also served as a member of the St. Norbert Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Committee, where she helped raise funds for various causes.
Known for her dedication to family and having an open, welcoming home, Gail was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones, particularly the little ones. Her legacy of kindness and community involvement will be greatly missed.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Southeast Personal Care Home, particularly Rodger, for their exceptional care and support. Much love to our dear family friend Michelle Allard, who supported Gail and the family as we prepared to say goodbye.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, Winnipeg, MB.
In memory of Gail, instead of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation's Palliative Care Ward at stbhf.ca.

So very sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I always remember growing up next to her and her bright smile and willingness to help. She was always the life of a party when she was at our house with my mom and dad. She will be in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Kenny McMullan (Neighbor) on: May 01, 2024
