Wendy Anne Pass (Bauer) aged 74, passed away with her family by her side in the Red Deer Hospital on April 26, 2024.
Wendy's spirit will live on in everyone who was lucky enough to feel her love and love for life. Wendy was an incredible, genuine woman who lived her life with complete pleasure and appreciation of the simple things.
Wendy was born to Henry and Jessie Bauer in Winnipeg. Her family spent many years at their family cabin in the Whiteshell on Jessica Lake. She was a graduate of Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute in June 1968. She went on to study at Red River College in the Laboratory Technologist program. Wendy worked in Calgary for the Calgary Lab Services and then taught at the Michener Institute in Toronto in their Med Lab program and retired in 2016. The students at Michener gifted her a mug that said, 'not all heroes wear capes', that is how we can all live on through Wendy. She had lifelong friends in Winnipeg, Calgary and Hamilton and found joy in her communities doing her best to help those in need. She volunteered at the Fort Richmond Community Center, Ryerson School lunch program, diabetes, kidney foundation, and several other cancer organizations.
She met Jeffrey Klebert in 1992 in Calgary and there was an instant connection. They lived in Calgary, Winnipeg and Dundas ON, then back to Winnipeg and lastly to Red Deer, AB. Wendy and Jeff loved the outdoors and spent several trips camping, hiking, walking through Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, BC, the USA and Mexico. Wendy took pride and joy as a stay-at-home Mom raising her children along side Gary Pass (Janis Sloan) and later on with Jeff. Wendy spent her time traveling and spending time with her family. Wendy was so engaging in each moment with grandchildren she was teaching them about something, and you could see their eyes wide in wonder.
After a long battle with breast cancer, we said goodbye to your physical presence but know you will live on in your husband Jeffrey Klebert and children Craig Pass (Leanne), Lauren Csada (Kevin), Laurie Mandryk (David Willis) and brother Ken Bauer. You will be deeply missed by your grandchildren Victoria, Brady ,Grace, Heidi, and Allison. Sister-in-law Janice Pass (Dave Hepting), brother-in-law Bob Burfoot and nephews Brent and Glenn Burfoot. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Jessie Bauer, Auntie Isabelle, sister Linda Burfoot.
Every time we plant something, take the kids fishing, prepare a beautiful meal, make chocolate chip cookies, or wrap up in one of your knitted blankets we will think of you with a smile and love in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Red Deer Hospital Foundation in Wendy's memory.
