WILLI CHRISTIAN KREIS

Willi Kreis Jr. died suddenly on May 9, 2024, at the age of 78.

Dad was born on January 27, 1947, in Heitbracht, West Germany to parents, Willi and Ida (nee Stumpp) Kreis. His family immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1953. Dad was predeceased by his infant sister (Hilde), his mother Ida, his father Willi Sr., and his grandparents, Theodore and Emma.

Dad leaves behind three sons: Norm, Darren and TJ; four grandsons: Kaleb, Dallas, Daniel, Ricky; his significant other Heather Burke; his sister Erika Kreis; his stepmother Helga; his Uncle Ted and many cousins and friends in Canada and Germany.

Dad worked with his father building houses for many years. He then spent the rest of his career working as a sales representative for the best car brand 'Chevrolet', semi retiring to a lovely job of bringing parts to his previous clients before fully retiring.

Dad enjoyed fishing, reading western novels, dogs and the most important - watching wrestling. When he wasn't busy you could find him outside on the patio chatting with his son(s) having a cold beverage or just watching the birds.

We are grateful to CancerCare for the warmth and care they showed to dad. He had great affection for his oncologist Dr. Graham, the nurses and support staff at Health Sciences Centre.

According to his wishes, dad has been cremated. His final wishes a few days before he died were to have no wake, celebration, or funeral. However he did want everyone to celebrate in their own way with the best memories they have, in whichever way works for them. Dad will be buried beside his beloved mother at Brookside Cemetery.
