Passed away peacefully at home in Sidney, B.C., on May 12, 2024.
Kim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on February 18, 1963.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years Don, son Jared and sister Kerri Styba as well as her mother, brother and step-father Maureen, Laird and Warren Mochnacz.
Kim remained positive and buoyant to the end despite a life long battle with diabetes that left her with numerous disabling conditions and on dialysis for her last few years.
She loved her dogs and all children, watching the Blue Jays and the Canucks and playing scrabble on the deck in the backyard where she was surrounded by the flowers and birds.
Kim continued to make new friends right up to the end. She was a beacon of positivity and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
We wish to express our gratitude to all those who helped care for her the last five years especially the staff at Royal Jubilee hospital and the care aids and nurses that came to our home.
The date for a celebration of life at the family home will be announced at a later time.
Donations can be made to the JDRF in lieu of flowers.
