We are saddened to announce Dave died at Riverview Nursing Home on June 15, 2024, after a valiant struggle with bile duct cancer.

Beloved husband, father and baba, Dave leaves to mourn his wife Diane (married 63 years), his daughter Sharon and son-in-law Vijay Sankar, granddaughters, Diana and Eve Sankar, sister Elizabeth Cross, brother-in-law George Flanigan and family (Vancouver), Dr. Harvey Speirs and family (Penticton), and sister-in-law Eleanor Cross (Duncan, BC).

Dave was predeceased by his son Steven, brother Bob Cross and sisters-in-law, Margi Speirs and Carol Flanigan.

Dave was a well-respected consulting engineer. He loved his time at his cottage on Treaty Island near Kenora. He was a member of the DKE fraternity and had over 30 years perfect attendance at the St. Vital Rotary Club.

Dave was also president of Kelvin High School and won the Dux citizenship award. He was awarded the Harry Hood trophy for football and was captain of the Kelvin football team.

He was president of ASHRAE, and a past president of the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba.

As world travellers, he and Diane explored all five continents and the South and North Poles.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Riverview's palliative ward and to Dr. Johann Raubenheimer, his family doctor at Assiniboine Clinic for their compassionate care.

As per Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place.
