LORNA NORDAL

Peacefully on June 8, 2024, Lorna Nordal (Douglas) of Masset, BC passed away after a long struggle with cancer.

Lorna was born at the Eriksdale Hospital, along with her twin brother Lawrence, to parents George and Rose Douglas. She left Eriksdale and joined the healthcare field working at numerous hospitals in Manitoba, and BC where she later retired. Lorna met her husband Ken Nordal, originally from Lundar, MB, in Vancouver and later married. Ken was a commercial fisherman working on the Haida Gwaii Islands. Lorna moved to the island to join Ken and soon welcomed their daughter Tanya. After Ken's passing Lorna moved to Quensel in 2022, due to health reasons. Lorna was blessed with two grandchildren, Jax and Sarah, who she loved to spend time with. She also loved spending time with the seniors in the care home, gardening, and especially crafts.

Lorna will be sadly missed by her son-in-law Paul Delves and grandchildren, Jax and Sarah of Quensel, BC, her sister Carol Ruchotzke (Dennis) of Winnipeg, brother-in-law Jim, foster brother Ron Nobess, Aunt Cathy Petrichen, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ken, parents, Rose and George Douglas, daughter Tanya Delves, sisters, Claudia Demchynski and Marlene Douglas, twin brother Lawrence Douglas, foster brother Leon Chartrand, and niece Sherri Demchynski.

The family would like to thank her earth angels, Crystal and Sam, for the love and support they gave to Lorna during her illness and for being at her side when she passed.

Lorna found solace at her church. As per Lorna's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

Rest in peace, dear sister.
