MARY KUBAS

(nee LABCHUK)

August 16, 1927 - July 9, 2024

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (Baba), Mary Kubas.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, daughter Lynn (Jake) Kalyta and their children, Darryl, Kristin (Errick Birch) and Erin; and son Randy (Barb) and their children, Michael (Nicole), Dana (Trevor) Clark, and Jessica (Brett) Montsion. She will be remembered by her 6 great-grandchildren, Zion, Judah and Makeda Beech, Kelsey and Dylan Kubas and Brooks Montsion. She is also survived by her brother, Steve (Sadie) Labchuk, sisters-in-law, Helen Labchuk and Denise Labchuk and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by her husband, Myrs, her parents, John and Kateryna, brothers Metro (Florence), Bill, Mike (Irene), Walter and sisters, Anne, Pauline (Bill) Kartushyn and Julia and Elizabeth in infancy.

Mom was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada when she was two. The family settled in Fisher Branch where she attended Ringrose School and Fisher Branch School. After moving to Winnipeg, she attended Success Business College and went on to work at CMHC. She and Myrs married on July 19, 1952, and soon after Lynn and Randy joined the family. Summers were spent camping and travelling. Mom loved her family and was happiest when everybody was together. Mom was a Life Member of the Fisher Branch WI and was involved with various organizations in the community. After retirement, she and Dad travelled to many destinations in the winter and loved to golf in the summer.

The family wishes to extend our thanks to the staffs of the Fisher Branch Personal Care Home and House of Hope for their excellent care and compassion.

In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, donations can be made to Fisher Personal Care Home Foundation Inc. P.O. Box 548 Fisher Branch, MB R0C 0Z0 or a charity of your choice.

Rest in Peace, Mom. You will be dearly missed, forever loved and remembered always.
