Gerald Glenn Brisson, 66, passed away on July 15, 2024, at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, surrounded by his loving family. Gerry is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his children, Eric, Thomas (Abigail), and Madeline; and his granddaughter, Ruth.
Gerry was born on September 24, 1957, in Winnipeg, MB. From a young age, he had a passion for sports, particularly hockey, and a commitment to hard work and hustling, values he carried throughout his life. He was raised by his mother Lorraine and father Gerald alongside three siblings, Charlene, Joe, and Mark.
He attended the University of Manitoba, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing and Human Relations and met his wife Suzanne in 1977. They would marry on October 3, 1981 beginning a life of travelling the world and raising three children. His family brought him pride and comfort, particularly in his final days.
Gerry was known for his dedication to his work and his fierce competitiveness. As an executive at Texaco, he climbed the ranks and managed teams in over 50 countries. As President of Transworld Business Advisors of Houston, he built the largest business brokerage in Texas, helping hundreds of Houstonians sell and acquire businesses. Throughout his career, Gerry always emphasized the importance of mentorship and leading teams with integrity; he deeply loved those he worked with, considering his brokers and employees extensions of his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m. on August 17, 2024, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, located at 13001 Katy Fwy., Houston, TX 77079. The family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in lieu of flowers.
Gerry will be remembered for his hard-working spirit, love for his family, and unwavering determination. He leaves behind a legacy of perseverance and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
