Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN WALL
It is with heavy hearts and much love that we announce the passing of John Wall on July 22, 2024, at the age of 78. After a seven year battle with dementia, John was called home by his Lord and Savior peacefully while he slept.
He is predeceased by his mother Katherina and father John; brothers, Ben and Isaac; sister Anne, in-laws, Reuben and Bertha and sister-in-law Patricia. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Naomi; daughter Rebecca (Sean); son James; grandson Dayton; and many siblings, sibling-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
John's life began on March 7, 1946, in Horndean, MB. He was one of eight children who grew up on a farm and helped in his dad's auto service shop. At 16 John moved to Winnipeg and began his 46-year career as a mechanic. He spent many years employed by the city, retiring in 2008 as the foreman of the Winnipeg Police Garage.
John was a hardworking, inventive, opinionated, caring man with a big heart always willing to help anyone in need. He was a jokester and had a great sense of humour. John was a musician, having spent 15 years playing on the worship team at his church and even formed his own band which often played at the German Club during Folklorama. John was so passionate about playing guitar. He also loved gardening and prided himself on having a yard filled with flowers. Most of all he loved his family, and spending time with them.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in John's name to the Alzheimer's Society.

Deepest, deepest condolences to Naomi and your Dear Family. John was such a dear and caring person. He was always there for me to put my 1977 Ford Granada back on the road, for another go round. He made my life so fulfilling with his crazy antics and his caring disposition. He was always willing to help in whatever dilemma I found myself in with that monster of a vehicle. Wishing you all the best in healing during these troubling times. You will always have your precious memories of 49 years, of lots of laughs and good times with family and friends alike. Your perseverance and love carried you through the tough times over the last few years with John's declining health. My heart is heavy for your loss, and you are in my everyday thoughts and prayers. Naomi, you've been my best friend since Grade 6, I believe. What a history we have. Biggest of hugs, my dear. Love you. - Posted by: Karen Claeys (Near and Dear Friend of Naomi, since Grade School) on: Aug 27, 2024

Naomi, Jamie, Becki, Sean and Dayton. We will always remember John as an amazing person, musician, artist and a great opponent in a debate. For the last few years I was wishing that I could listen to one more rousing discussion between my brother and John. Wish we had recorded some of them! We had lots years of fun and we will always cherish those memories. Sending lots of love your way. Kathy & John Wadsworth and family - Posted by: Kathy (Horch) Wadsworth (Cousin) on: Aug 06, 2024
