With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Janet Cynthia Van Nieuw Amerongen, 64, at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on July 16, 2024.
Janet leaves behind her husband George; her cherished sons, Jeremy Noel, Justin Noel, and Nathan (Delaney) Van Nieuw Amerongen; her loving sisters, Shirley (Ron) Rudiak, Sheila (Robert) Sutyla, and Joan (Garry) Proceviat; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Linda Gavel and Sylvie Lean.
Born in Whitemouth, Manitoba, on September 9, 1959, alongside her twin sister Joan, Janet was the daughter of John and Marge Bencharski. Raised in the Hadashville area, Janet developed a strong work ethic from a young age by helping her parents run their family business. Known throughout her life for her dependability, determination, and immense heart, Janet would not hesitate to drive over eight hours to assist her beloved in-laws, Aart (Kathy) Van Nieuw Amerongen, whenever they needed her. She was always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. Janet lived in several towns across the prairie provinces, including Elma, Steinbach, Thompson, Watrous, and most recently Nipawin. Her joyful, positive, and generous nature, deeply rooted in her faith in God and His Word, the Bible, allowed her to adapt quickly and form lasting friendships wherever she went. Janet eagerly anticipated the fulfillment of God’s promise to resurrect loved ones, including her parents and niece who predeceased her, to a paradise earth free from pain and death (Revelation 21:3-4).

Dear Family and Friends, So sorry for the loss of my best friend Janet over 30 years. She is already missed by all of us The last time I saw her was in June. She drove all the way from Nipawin, Sk to help me clean my mom-in-law's suite before her death. She was such a generous and caring person. I love her very much. I believe we will see her soon in this cleansed earth. - Posted by: Sylvia Lean (Close friend) on: Aug 10, 2024
