PATRICK BRIAN JEWELL

Brian passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Oakview Place after a brief illness at the age of 83 years.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandy; his sons, Raymond (Leslie), Keith (Lynell); daughter Susan (Ted); stepdaughters, April and Ashley.

He was proud of his grandchildren, Robert, Carley, Ricki-Lee (Alex), Brett, Landon, Joshua and Morgan as well as great-granddaughter Blake. He will be deeply missed by his brother Terry (Terry Lynne) and many nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his mother and father Elsie and Raymond, siblings, Margaret Joyce, Sharon Rae (Ken), Maureen (Joe), Barry (Mary Kay), Marcia (George).

Brian was born on April 4, 1941 in Sioux Lookout, ON. He moved to Winnipeg in 1964 to start his career. He worked at the Coldstream factory and went on to be a commercial refrigeration mechanic working for Fleming Pedler and Hussmann. He retired in 2005 and then went on to work part-time at Golden West until he was 73. He loved walking or riding his bike there and did general maintenance and enjoyed interacting with the residents. Brian loved spending time in his backyard gardening, tinkering in the garage, fishing and attended many garage sales looking for a bargain.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Oakview Place who were wonderful and caring. As per Brian’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A service will be held on August 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St Paul the Apostle Parish, 2400 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
