The family of Brad Hamilton is saddened to announce his sudden and unexpected passing. On August 24, 2024, at age 68, our dear Brad earned his wings.
Born in Prince Albert, raised in Brandon and Winnipeg, Brad ventured west to BC where he nurtured close friendships and dedicated his life to helping others in need. His boyhood buzz cut and love for Judo evolved into his teenage shag cut and a love for Joe Cocker, George Carlin and The Who. Brad loved growing up with four sisters, making them peel with laughter and getting rewarded with a steady supply of home made chocolate chip cookies. He revered the men in his life - his dad, uncle, grandfather and of course Pa, always reflecting with laughter about the old days. His deepest, greatest connection was with our Mom who was his biggest cheerleader, always always there for him. On his last night he spoke happily with his Mom about the events of the day, including their hopes for a Bomber win that night. He also spoke with one of his best friends and with his beloved sister Terry who has been his lifelong companion from the day he was born to the day that he died. Brad always had the most generous and giving heart - even helping his fellow residents from his own wheelchair when he could. He was a natural at cracking jokes and getting a laugh out of others. And he gave us these life lessons: call your mother, never stop being kind and never turn down a lunch trip to Boston Pizza.
He loved his family and he was dearly loved in return. He was predeceased by his father, Gale and his beloved sister, Lisa Fallis (Dave). He will be dearly missed by his mom, Ollie Hamilton, his sisters, Terry Wiens (Les), Kim Karlstrom (Darrel) and Lorie Ring (Rory), Auntie Noreen (and the Templetons), Uncle Ron and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. In addition his loss will be felt by the residents and staff of Hamilton Village Care Centre in Richmond, BC and his lifelong friends including Bobby and Ken.
Special thanks to the Hamilton Village staff for the great care and compassion he received.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
