JANET ELIZABETH HABINGTON
Janet (nee Fraser) passed away at the Grace Hospital with her family by her side.
She is survived by her husband Brett, daughter Maureen (Mike) and son Rourke (Nicole). Janet is also mourned by her sisters, Dianne Rosin (Kenn), Heather Argue (Doug) and Cathy Stambrook (Michael), her sister-in-law Helena Habington and she will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Alec and Ina (nee Sioui) Fraser and brother-in-law Stephen Habington.
Jan’s passion was her family and she was involved in many ways to support their interests: Sunday school teacher at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Charleswood, a Brown Owl in Brownies, Parent Association President at Beaverlodge School, put on Westdale Community Centre Winter Carnivals and supported many sporting team events as well as organizing three wonderful trips for the family to Disneyworld.
Jan made Christmas special for everyone and she was an outstanding cook and baker.
The family cabin at Canyon Lake was her special place. She excelled at putting on activities to keep the nieces, nephews and adults entertained. It was important to Jan everyone felt special and loved.
The family acknowledges the support of many medical professionals over the years to Jan’s care and especially to the home care nurses and aides who walked through our door as strangers and left as friends. Thank-you.
A ceremony has taken place at St. James Anglican Church where Brett and Jan were married July 19, 1986.
Peace be with you.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
