Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHARON OFFICER
Sharon passed away peacefully at home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on September 7, 2024, just weeks before her 65th birthday. She now reunites with her parents, Dawna Marie Robertson, (née Smith), father, John Bruce Robertson, and sister, Heather Jean Robertson.
Born on September 22, 1959, in Glenboro, Manitoba, Sharon eventually settled in Winnipeg. She married Arthur Officer on July 14, 1979, and their 45-year marriage was filled with love. Sharon was a devoted mother to Brenda (née Officer) Friesen (Colin) and Ashley Officer (Brian Markwick); and grandmother to Dexter, Heath, and Chevelle. She was also a surrogate mother to many others, including Jacob (Mackenzie) Kaufman and Amanda Kehler, and a godmother to Angelica Nachtigall Lecuyer (Jay). She will be dearly missed by Scooter, the dog.
A graduate of the St. Boniface School of Nursing, Sharon spent 37 years as a nurse, primarily at St. Boniface Hospital, where she thrived in the Emergency Department.
Sharon cherished lifelong friendships, loved crafting, and enjoyed travelling with family. She adored Christmas and always made her home a warm, welcoming place for gatherings.
In accordance with Sharon's wishes, a small private gathering will be held. A special thank you to the Palliative Care staff who helped guide us through this difficult time. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association or planting a tree in her name are encouraged.

Though I did not work night shift, Sharon and I exchanged report often overs the years. She was an outstanding nurse. Focused, efficient, capable and driven. She could have ran the department solo if need be! It is fact that she garnered much respect from many nurses, physicians as well other allied health team members. I am saddened by your great loss. My memory of Sharon will not be forgotten. - Posted by: Judy Kwong (Former Colleague, St. B Emergency) on: Sep 16, 2024

Deepest sympathy to Sharon's family at this difficult time. Sharon was an excellent, caring nurse. I knew when I was working with her, that things were under control. She remained organized and professional when, at times, it felt like things were "falling apart" in the department. - Posted by: Velma Schmidt (Former work colleague in SBGH ER) on: Sep 16, 2024

I have many memories of working nights with Sharon, who was an outstanding nurse and mentor. You knew whatever happened that night Sharon was in charge and it would be o.k. I worked night shifts with Sharon in the ER at St. B. for many years. She was an outstanding nurse and I was always happy when she was in charge as I knew she was going to handle everything that could happen in a busy emergency without any problems. I am also proud to call her my friend. I’ll see you again one day Sharon. Blake. - Posted by: Blake Morden (Nurse colleague) on: Sep 14, 2024
