It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of our husband and father, Jeffrey Wayne Bell, 61, at his home in Traverse Bay on Monday, September 2, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born June 14, 1963, in Winnipeg to parents Leonard and Dena. Jeff grew up in the Grant Park neighborhood attending Rockwood Elementary and later on Grant Park High School where he would graduate in 1980. After high school Jeff would go on to a 31-year career at the City of Winnipeg where he retired in 2013. Jeff had a number of passions in life but the two that standout most notably were his love for drumming and his dedication to building. Jeff played as the drummer in many bands throughout his teens and adulthood including in recent years Thursday nights at the Birchwood Hotel as well as multiple different groups in Guayabitos, Mexico where he and Joanne spent their winters.
Jeff was predeceased by both parents, Leonard and Dena, brother Brian, first born son Ryan, and best pal Kobe. He leaves behind his partner of 26 years, Joanne, son Jake, stepdaughter Sadie, sister Diane (Tom), brother Don (Bonnie), sister-in-law Kathy as well extended family and countless close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 10, 1:00 p.m. at CCRC, 653 Knowles Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to any pet rescue of your choice.

Dear Joanne and family, We were so saddened, shocked and heartbroken when you told us about Jeff! He was such a great guy, always smiling and so comfortable to be around. Seemed we were always on the same wave length with the love of our lives, love of our friends, love of music and playing it, love of our dogs, love of Mexico! We liked Jeff the moment we met in Mexico and had many great times along the way. He was so creative building his drum kit in Mexico out of a highchair, a tamborine, a spoon for the kick pedal and whatever else he could muster up . OMG it was ingenious and he made it sound great! So thoughtful of others, it was Jeff and Joanne that surprised us on our 40th anniversary with a huge cake and a bottle of wine. We have some great memories of Jeff that will never be forgotten. God Bless - Until we meet again!!! Love Don & Jan - Posted by: Don Ferrey (Friend and musician) on: Sep 17, 2024

We had the pleasure of being snowbird neighbours in Mexico to Jeff and Joanne since 2013. Jeffs love for drumming gave him many opportunities to play in different groups. We are especially thankful when he set up his drums on our patio and played with Dave Rogers group. Jeff loved Mexico and enjoyed playing horse shoes on the beach and in the famous tournament every year. We had a special hat embroidered for him with the middle finger. He wore it proudly. Brians favorate saying to him was Pound Sand. He was very talented and proud of the renovation on his house in traverse bay. He as so happy, everything was falling into place. We will certainly miss you in Mexico Jeff. Remembering our games of left right centre hiding under the patio umbrella in the pouring rain. Good memories, good times. great friends. Our deepest heartfelt condolencenses to Joanne and family. - Posted by: Brian and Marlene Kantz (friends) on: Sep 17, 2024
