It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announce Mom's passing on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 surrounded by her husband Bob, daughter Jackie and sister Valerie at Holy Family Home in Winnipeg.
Mom's memory will be lovingly cherished by her husband, Robert (Bob); daughter Jackie Odway and spouse Jeff; stepdaughter Karen MacElwain and spouse Rick; grandchildren, Jordan, Destiny, Hope, Alex, Joshua, Elijah and Trinity; sister Valerie McDonald; niece Edith McDonald and spouse Bill Burgess and their children, Chloe (Noah) and Simon; nephew, John F. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Edith (nee Crow) and Norman R. Fraser; sister Catherine (Katie) Albo; aunt Margaret Fraser; brother-in-law John A. McDonald; grandparents, Jane (nee Casey) and Samuel Fraser.
Mom's early years were busy with several jobs including Office Manager at Oxford Building Cleaning, Dubrovnik Restaurant and her final position at Keith G. Collins Ltd. Mom was a very kind, loving and giving person. She gave her time for many years volunteering at her church until illness made it impossible. Mom had a love for disco music of the 70s and 80s, rollerskating where she met her husband, Bob. Mom loved each of her cats, Scooter, Pigpen, and Jesse and spoiled them rotten over the years they were with her. She enjoyed living life and yearly vacations to Palm Springs. Mom's big heart and light will be greatly missed by family and friends.
"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.’ ” John 11:25-26
The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Home, St. Nicholas ward for all the care given to Mom while there.
In compliance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society Manitoba.
