BETTY ANN NOAKES

(MUIR)

On September 15, 2024, surrounded by her family, our Mom, Gramma, and Great-Gramma, Betty Ann Noakes, peacefully passed away.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Bill (Monica), Cam (Linda), Nancy (Verne); grandchildren, Todd (Giulia), Kelsey (Steve), Adam, Meaghan (Jean-Guy), Kyle (Suzi), Trevor (Aly); great-grandchildren, Madison, Alivia, Chloe, Jack and another she was looking forward to meeting, all of whom she loved and cherished.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Harry, her parents, her siblings and their spouses and numerous other family and friends. The end of an ERA.

Born in Port Arthur, Ontario on December 24, 1927, her childhood was mostly spent there. Mom and Dad were married in 1953 and as a young family were transferred to Winnipeg and established strong ties in Windsor Park. Mom worked at Canada Packers for 25 years and volunteered at Winakwa Community Club (Baton and Dance), Windsor Park United Church and All Saints Kinettes.

She enjoyed golfing, travelling, and was a dedicated newspaper reader. She loved to discuss all local and world news, often over a glass of wine.

Our Mom was quick of wit, told great stories, loved to have fun; she sure could make her grandchildren and great-grandchildren laugh. Feisty at times, a true survivor.

The family would like to thank all who cared for our mother over the last few years with kindness and compassion.

A private family interment will occur later.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • What a lovely & lively person, she always let me know exactly what she thought and I respect those who are so honest with you. I remember her visit to my home in Michigan and we were discussing heartburn of all things. I was naive and she gave me the recipe to great sleep and a life free of agony.... Love you Aunt Betty Ann. - Posted by: Bill Muir (Nephew ) on: Dec 31, 2024

  • I was always happy to see Aunt Betty Ann come to visit. My last memory was of her visiting us (my wife Susan & I) in Michigan in 2002 or 2003 I believe. My Dad (Jack Muir) was always fond of her and Harry. Bill Muir 10/27/24 - Posted by: Bill Muir (Nephew) on: Oct 27, 2024
