Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I was a fellow member of Crescent Fort Rouge United Church when we were doing life stories of some of our "elders". I worked with Jean to compile her life story. I learned that Jean was a remarkable woman and a trailblazer for women in her day. She had a very sharp mind and strengths of leadership, a sense of community responsibility, as well as a caring nature. If anyone wishes to see her "Life Story", please contact me and I can make that happen. - Posted by: Marlene Beaty (fellow parishioner) on: Oct 08, 2024

  • I met Jean at seniorโ€™s fitness classes at the University of Manitoba. She attended faithfully and was a keen participant. Jean had a very positive outlook on life and my husband and I valued our friendship with her. - Posted by: Allie (Friend) on: Oct 08, 2024

  • I am heartbroken to learn that our dear Jean passed away. I met Jean in the early 2000's with her volunteer work at the Canadian Cancer Society on the Daffodil Committee! This entailed months of preparation to ensure a successful campaign! And with her background in banking she was an excellent treasurer! Throughout the years our friendship has remained. If you were in her circle you know she cared for you! She was a force and gave of her time, talents, and sage advice. Now deeply missed...my deepest sympathy to Jean's family and friends.
