Anna Mary Miller (nee Klose) was born in Winnipeg on May 6, 1930, to Frank and Anne Klose. She was the older of two children, with her younger brother Fred Klose predeceasing her.
Anna grew up and lived most of her life in the north part of Winnipeg.
She is survived by two sons, Brian Schan (Connie), Don Schan, and grandson Kevin.
Anna was a very hard worker, with a variety of jobs. Her longest employment was at Health Sciences Centre in the photography department. Her willingness to try new things resulted in an enjoyable 25 years at HSC where she was highly regarded for the quality of her work.
She was committed to and involved in her church where she contributed by serving in the Catholic Women’s League in various capacities. Being a social and giving person, Anna easily made new friends. Many lifelong.
Anna enjoyed travelling. She took many yearly trips to Hawaii and Palm Springs. Some trips she was accompanied by her beloved grandson Kevin. The pair shared a special bond and a close relationship. Lunches and trips were a frequent occurrence.
In 2020, she moved into an apartment due to Covid, she joined her son Don in Paradise Village, where she lived until she passed. These were wonderful years as Don took her to visit friends, on many day trips and overnight trips to places like Brandon, Fort Frances and Kenora. All of which she enjoyed so much. It was also a huge benefit as her health began to decline, enabling her to stay out of the hospital except for the very last days.
Anna passed away at the Steinbach Hospital on October 6, 2024.
A Funeral Service will be held on October 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 355 Andrews Street, with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.

Ann was truly an amazing mother on law while I was married to her son, Brian. We shared many good times together and I have nothing but fond memories of us roller skating and shopping. She was like the mother I never had. Non judgemental, loving and giving. Deepest condolences to Brian, Connie, Donny and Kevin. - Posted by: Barbara Camara (Mother in law (former)) on: Oct 12, 2024
