Frances Edith Corbett died peacefully at Grace Hospice on October 22, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
Frances was born in Williamsdale, Nova Scotia on May 2, 1937. Frances is survived by her son Stephen Corbett (Paul); daughter Susan Cassidy (Dave); granddaughter Keira Cassidy (Riley) of Melbourne, Australia and Keira's father Mark Cassidy. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Ronald Corbett, mother Jean Payne and brother John Payne.
Frances, lived in Nova Scotia until 1963 when the family moved to Vancouver and settled in Winnipeg in 1964. Frances retired from the Winnipeg Library Cafeteria in 1990 and retired to Spruce Sands until 2008 when they returned to the city. Many happy memories, and friendships were made at Spruce Sands. Frances enjoyed many visits back to Nova Scotia, PEI, and Newfoundland.
The family would like to thank the healthcare providers at Riverview and Grace Hospice - especially Harlan who always brought laughter and a smile to Frances.
As per Frances's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army in Frances's name.
