We are sad to say that Roger - friend, cousin, uncle, brother, dad, and grandpa - left us too soon for the big fishing hole in the sky. He's sitting by the campfire, having a cold one, and listening to the game. Nature was his closest companion. It gave him a sense of solace and peace. We will miss his gentle ways.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

My deepest condolences to his family, I was lucky to have met him and worked alongside him for the time I was able too. Roger was a kind soul, a quiet fellow who left such an impression on those around him. His presence at work was something I always looked forward to each day, from his immersive stories about camping and fishing, to his knowledge on knickknacks that came before my time, as well other antiques, I also can’t forget his ever so constant whistling to the tunes on the radio. All of these things brighten my day and yet were such simple things, and that’s why I hold so much respect and gratitude towards him, the best parts of life tend to be the simplest things and he showed me that just by being himself. I hope that wherever he may be now that he’s able to enjoy a relaxed fishing trip with no worries insight. - Posted by: Ash (Friend From Work) on: Jan 24, 2025

I'm sad to see you go pops. I know he likes camping, I bought acreages in NB close to fishing, close to the Atlantic ocean, lots of space for his dog, and I wanted to build it big enough so that we could both live there and enjoy it into his retirement. Roger and I were classmates at Louis Riel and graduated together in 1976. We played on the high school hockey team where he was known as "Frank". This name was given to him by his friends for his love of Frank Mahovlich, a star with the Montreal Canadiens. He was a truly unique guy and I valued his friendship. Our gang included him, Claude Couture, Larry Marius, Rob Roy, Claude Marion and Gerry LaChance. He will be missed. - Posted by: Marc St.Pierre (Friend) on: Nov 08, 2024

I only meet Roger 5 months ago, I Volunteer at Revive and Thrive thrift store. We had some good chats. I liked that not matter what brought in for food he would try. And tell me either yes or no. The big surprise, I bought Samosa one day. He loved them and ask where he could get more. Lol He had lots of friends there, he will be missed by them all. Sorry to the family for your loss. My condolences to all of Roger's family. I have so much to say about Roger. We were close. Roger once gave me a hug, and said "you are the big brother that I never had". We played so much hockey together from 1990 until 2008. He was a fanatic fan of the Habs. We both loved antiques. And so much more said and done together. We both loved animals...his dog Buddy. I shall dearly miss you my friend. I look forward to seeing you in the next dimension Roger. Your hockey gm. Denis LetaIn - Posted by: Denis Letain (Close friend) on: Oct 26, 2024

I knew Roger through grade school at Lacerte, all the way through Graduation at Louis Riel Collegiate. He was known as a quiet guy but a friend to all. The last time I spoke to Roger was at our 35th grad class reunion. Knowing I was a car guy, he couldn't wait to tell me about the old car he had been fixing up. I'm sure you'll make out good with the rest of our departed LRC Class of '76....Angelo Grestoni, Edmond Leblanc, Yvette Gauthier, Michelle Sanche, and Doris Leclerc to name a few. Roger take your deserved place among the best! - Posted by: Allan Bedard (Classmate) on: Oct 26, 2024

So terrible sorry to hear about Roger! I met him in grade nine at LRC. He was the quiet one amongst all those Windsor Park boys, always had a grin and a shy Hello. Last time we saw each other was at around Lac Lu in Ont. Doing exactly what was said in his tribute. We had a beer and chatted for awhile. Such a nice man. I'm sure he will be missed. - Posted by: Pat Laurin (School friend) on: Oct 26, 2024

Roger was my closest cousin, friend and fishing partner for over 50 years. He will be missed and will not be forgotten. Bays lake was our favorite fishing hole and his favorite spot. Solitude at its finest and a good provider of walleye for those camping meals. A few of us will be raising a cold beer to a fond fair well at this lake when the fishing season opens and have a few laughs with the stories we will share that Roger was part of. Until then rest my friend and cousin💐RIP Claude. - Posted by: Claude Beaudry (Cousin) on: Oct 26, 2024
