DORIS STEIN

(nee CHOP)

Saddened, but grateful for our years together, the family announces the peaceful passing of Doris Stein, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, on October 31, 2024, at the age of 94.

Doris is survived by her baby brother Elmer (Judy), her daughters, Mona (Charlie), Bev (Rob), grandchildren, Brent (Loriana), Shane (Christina), Meaghan (Shane), Amy (Jay), Neil (Erica) and her great-grandchildren, Arlo, Willa and Oliver. Also, step-great-grandchildren, Jadyn (Will) and Tyler (Paige).

She was predeceased by her loving husband Ken Stein, her father Sam Chop, mother Pearl Chop, and by her siblings, Jean and Peter.

Doris’ life was a story of devotion, love and loyalty to her family. She was spiritual, intuitive and led her life with a gentle kindness which she selflessly offered to all those who had the honour of knowing her. Doris was an avid reader, animal lover and had a talent for painting. She enjoyed being able to create pieces and gift them to family and friends. Over the years, she had many interests that allowed her to express her style and creativity including beauty aesthetics, a card and teacup reading business, jewelry making, as well as, knitting and crocheting. Her fondest memories were those made growing up on the family farm which she loved to share, and we will always remember her stories about Ukrainian Christmas on the farm. Doris will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Doris' life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.

In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in memory of Doris can be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to the team at Meadowood Manor who provided care and comfort to Doris.
