WAYNE CHARLES GEORGE HUGGINS

August 15, 1932 - October 31, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Huggins of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

A man who believed every penny had its place (even if it took him a while to find it), Wayne dedicated 35 years of his life to the Bank of Nova Scotia and Assiniboine Credit Union, where he meticulously kept the books balanced.

Those who knew Wayne well will remember him for his distinctively blunt sense of humour, which made him a memorable character who could always be counted on for an honest opinion.

Wayne leaves to mourn his beloved wife Phyllis, who shared life's journey with him for over 60 years; his son Gary; his four treasured grandchildren, Aspen, Gabrielle (Dexter), Sara, and Marissa; and three great-grandchildren, Coriander, Daelen, and Nora who brought immense joy to his life. Wayne was predeceased by his eldest son, Brian; and daughter-in-law, Paulette.

To honour Wayne's wishes, a private Celebration of Life was held with a private family interment at Glen Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or the Victoria Hospital Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sympathies Phyllis to you and your family on the passing of Wayne. Wayne and I first worked together in the early 1990's with the Hy-Line Credit Union (Now Assiniboine). I very much enjoyed Wayne's sense of humor, and I always looked forward to the lunches that Wayne and I took together- especially the ones to Arby's. You will be missed Wayne. - Posted by: Dave Hergesheimer (Former Co-worker / Friend) on: Nov 12, 2024
