In the early evening hours of November 6, 2024, in his 90th year, George Roy Harrison joined his family and friends who had gone before him. His infant daughter Pamela, parents, Alex and Katie Harrison of Kelwood, MB, brother-in-law Allen Wilson of Brandon, brother Bill and Nora Harrison of Maple Ridge, BC, sister Anne and Stan Bidowski of Winnipeg, and brother Eddy Watling of Winnipeg.
Cherishing his love are his beloved wife Doreen in their 50th year of marriage, their children: Harry Derkach of Calgary, Theresa Harrison (Darwin Claeys) of Bruxelles, MB, Paul (Lydia) Derkach of Salmon Arm, BC, Mary (Darcy) Bernardin of Winnpeg, Shannon Harrison (Bob Simpson) of Merritt, BC, Brad (Denise) Harrison of Abbotsford, BC, their families and dear friends.
George’s life revolved around his family whom he fiercely loved and enjoyed spending time with. He and Doreen danced from the first time they met and continued for 50 years even in Portugal. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and were supporting members of the church.
In accordance with George’s wishes, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2024, St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Anne’s Road. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
Family wish to thank the nursing staff of 7A West, St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the Comfort Keepers Staff for all their generosity and special care given to George and his family.

I just can't find the words to express how I feel for George. What a beautiful man he was. I had the honor to become a part of this family when Theresa was my best friend in the early 70's. Does not matter how far away I was they were always a part of my heart. Doreen and George were like parents to me.
