Katie peacefully passed away six days short of her 102nd birthday at the Emerson Personal Care Home.
Predeceased by her husband Paul in 2014. Born in Vita to John and Hafia Prokipchuk. Katie was the last surviving of five brothers and four sisters. Married Paul in 1945, moving to the Tolstoi family farm. Retired to Emerson in 2009, and into the Care Home in 2018.
Katie leaves behind her daughter Audrey Burgess (Ralph), grandson Tyler; son Wayne Arseny, his three children: Cara (Didier), great-granddaughter Olivia; Braeden and Tatiana (Evan),;Wayne’s partner Bev (daughter Krista; her children, Nicholas and Bella).
Prayers Sunday, November 17, 7:00 p.m., Korban Funeral Home in Vita, MB. Funeral Monday, November 18, 10:00 a.m., Tolstoi Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

My deepest sympathy to you Wayne, Braeden, and Tatiana. Although I only visited with her a few times, I knew Katie to be a very kind and sweet lady. She spoke so proudly about her family (and her garden!) I think her favourite times were with her grandchildren.
