Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Great-uncle Jack and I celebrated our birthdays on the same day, I was born exactly 40 years after Jack. For a number of years I would call him on our birthday to catch up on the past year. We both looked forward to our annual call. I will miss talking to him and our birthday conversation. - Posted by: Mike Janz (Great nephew) on: Nov 29, 2024

  • I've been a friend of Jack's daughter Annie since my teens and Jack and Marg were a big part of my childhood. I moved to New Zealand in the 1980s but I would try to stop in and see them when I visited Winnipeg. When they came to NZ we caught up and enjoyed reminiscing about those early days. Their house on Yale will forever hold found memories. Marg's calm strength and Jack's funny grumpiness holding a special place in my heart. I'm so please Jack found love again after Marg's passing. As we say in New Zealand Haere rā Mr P, ka aroha hoki. - Posted by: Leanne Pooley (nee Turnbull) (Friend of the Family) on: Nov 26, 2024

  • I knew Jack for 70+ years where we met at University of Manitoba studying to be actuaries. We both worked at GWL, played golf at both Southwood / St Charles, played duplicate bridge and raised our families 7 children and our 6 (Jack was very competitive). We both vacationed and wintered after retirement in Palm Springs. Jack was a great friend and will be missed by me and the Pennycook family Rod Pennycook - Posted by: Rod Pennycook (Friend) on: Nov 24, 2024
