Shelly Fern Kanfer, 92, died on November 14, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was known for her sense of humour and love of good food.
A first-generation American, Shelly was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 17, 1932, to Rose and Harry Brooks. She became a bookkeeper after she graduated high school and continued to work as one until October 2022. Shelly and her family immigrated to Winnipeg in 1975, where she remained until she relocated to Las Vegas in November 2022.
It was in Winnipeg that Shelley met her second husband, Tom Copeland. Tom and Shelley had a long, loving, and happy marriage. They shared a love of bowling and taking cruises. Tom passed away in November 2016. Shelly is survived by her son Brian Kanfer (Mary); daughter Rachel Kanfer Frederick (Adam), grandchildren, Addison, Slateon (Ella), and Cressa Frederick; step-grandchildren, Patrick and Erin Lynn, her niece Ricky Sigman and nephew Jack Sigman (Janet).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shelly's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

To Shelly’s family, I would like to offer my deepest condolences on your Mom’s passing. Shelly and Tom lived directly below my Mom in the condo on Watson St. in Winnipeg. They were both darling people and excellent neighbours, very helpful and friendly.
