With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Georgette Supeene. Georgette passed away November 19, 2024 at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre.
Georgette grew up in Fort Garry on a dairy farm on Clarence Ave. She married in 1948 to George and raised their family in St. Boniface and Windsor Park. Georgette worked at Dominion for many years until retiring. Georgette and George lived life to the fullest and travelled all across Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, Spain, Belgium and China.
Georgette and George were snowbirds and went down to Magic Valley in Weslaco, Texas every winter for over 25 years. She loved playing cards, bowling and bingo. If you missed a number she was on the ball and could tell what game they were playing or what number was called. Georgette remembered each of her family’s birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Always gave a card and made everyone feel special. She was a great cook, loved making those fantastic meals for her family on the holidays and everyone left the table stuffed!
She was predeceased by her parents, Maria and Alphonse; brother, John; sister, Mariette; husband, George and son, Richard.
She leaves her son, Ken (Charlotte); daughter, Julie (Stan); daughter-in-law, Yvonne; sister-in-law, Joyce Devrieze, grandchildren, Jason (Shelly), Curtis (Kerry), Crystal and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Gareth, Jakob, Avah, Cody (Danika), Avery (Sara), Chantel (Zachary) and great-great-grandchildren Brooklynne, Madilynne and Richard.
A special thank you to the Golden Door Geriatric Centre where she resided for the past eight years.
As her wish, she will be placed to rest with her husband, George at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
