Cornie Friesen was born and grew up in Steinbach but in 1977 he moved his family to Alberta. We announce that he passed away peacefully on November 14 at the age of 75 in Olds, Alberta. He is predeceased by his father Jacob P. Friesen, mother Margaret, sister Mary and first wife Rita (Lesage) Friesen. He leaves behind, his children; Paul Lesage (Cristina), Connie Fernandez (Francisco), Jeremy (Jonina), Tony, and grandchildren; Tania, Raquel, Justin, Jennifer, Jordan (Brenna), Jonathon, Oli and four great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his second wife Jean Canilang, stepdaughter Aziza Caguioa (John Paul), and grandson John Paul Jr.
