DORIS MAGNUSSON
Doris Magnusson (nee Kirkness) was born in Norway House, MB on September 14, 1927, to parents Maria and George.
Doris spent her early years in Saskatchewan, but eventually returned to Manitoba, dividing her time between Selkirk and Norway House. It was while working as a hairdresser in Norway House that she met her future husband, Einar, when he came in one fateful day to get his hair cut! They eventually married, settling down in the Garden City neighbourhood of Winnipeg, and raising their daughter Tammy.
In 2010, Doris and Einar sold the house and cottage, and moved to Spruce Grove, AB, to be closer to Tammy and her family. It was here they spent their remaining years, where Doris would go on to spend tons of time playing puzzles and games with family, pampering the pets, and working outside in the garden. Doris especially loved her Sunday afternoons going out to dances with Einar (it kept them young, she always said!), and their summer evenings enjoying each other's company on the deck.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, many siblings, and her beloved Einar. She is survived by her daughter Tammy, son-in-law Guy, her grandkids, and her many lifelong friends. She had a generous spirit and a deep love of chocolate, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
