Ingrid Malone passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, in Winnipeg, MB, surrounded by her loving children, at the age of 89, after a brief illness.
Ingrid was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, John Peter Malone. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Peggy (Tom), Iris (late Rod), and Terence (Margaret). She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Nolan (Kat), Miles, and Jennifer (Matthew), as well as her great-grandson, Nikola, and extended family and friends.
Born in Berlin, Germany, Ingrid immigrated to Canada in 1956 to join her future husband, John. Throughout her career, she held various positions, including being a private nanny and an accounting clerk at The Hutchings Company, before retiring as a collection’s agent from Air Canada Cargo in 1993.
In her retirement, Ingrid enjoyed travelling to many destinations across Europe, North and South America with her family and friends. She also loved bus tours, meeting new people, and exploring new places closer to home. As the matriarch of the family, she played a vital role in keeping everyone connected. Ingrid had a deep affection for her four cats: Ted, Tigger, Marcie, and Baby. She stayed connected with her many friends and colleagues throughout her retirement years.
The family extends a special thank you to her physician Dr. Perche and the caring staff at Grace and Victoria Hospitals for their support and care.
A private service and burial were held at Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
