Abraham Henry Enns passed away peacefully at the age of 95, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB., on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
He survived six days after an aortic dissection. He was always secure in his relationship with Jesus and the dream of heaven.
Abe was born on the farm (Sec 17-8-3W) Grey Municipality, MB on June 21, 1929. He spent his youth on a farm at Elm Creek, MB. He had fond memories of farm life along with three sisters and four brothers and their parents Henry and Anna Enns.
He met Anne Kroeker at church in Elm Creek and they were married on June 27, 1953. They made their home and raised their family in Winnipeg, Steinbach, Lynn Lake and retired back to Steinbach in 1997.
Abe was a man of deep faith who loved Jesus and knew what it meant to experience the presence of God in his daily life. He was changed by the love of Jesus and shared that love with each person he had the opportunity to meet. He would want people to know the beautiful love, forgiveness and peace in a personal relationship with Jesus. Abe truly lived his life with a testimony of faith and integrity.
Abe lived an active life; he was rarely found sitting still. He kept busy in his years up north, fishing, waterskiing, cross country skiing, curling and picking blueberries. In his later years his hobbies included planting tomatoes, aqua sizing and daily walks. Abe and Anne loved hosting people in their home and at their cabin and touched many lives with their hospitality. But Abe’s first love was his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 71 years Anne, four children Beverley (Bryan) Rempel, Esther (Paul) McMillen, Douglas (Patti) Enns, Gerald (Lori) Enns, grandchildren Matthew Cleveland, Sarah (Kiyo) Cleveland, James (Alicia) Cleveland, Nathan McMillen, Scott (Ashley) McMillen, Ashley (Kyle) Penner, Joanne (Warren) Zarichanski, Caitlin (Jey) Black, Derrick (Nikki) Enns, Mackenzie Enns, Alexandra (Malcolm) Enns and great-grandchildren Arianna, Xavier, Hannah, Zachary, Bodhi, Benjamin, Lincoln, Milo, Ryker, Niko, Taryn, Tommy, Penny, Meila, Lyra, Louise, Lemmy, Emerson. He is also survived by one brother, Dave Enns and one sister Anna Enns and many nephews and nieces.
Abe was predeceased by his parents Henry and Anna (Wiebe) Enns, brothers Henry, John, Jake, sisters Katie and Mary and great-grandson Avery.

Uncle Abe was always interested in other people's lives and took good care of our family after we lost our dad. He was always welcoming whenever I came to visit whether up in Lynn Lake when I was 9 months pregnant and they took me out to their cabin or if I popped in for lunch whenever working in Steinbach. When I was about 8 years old he rescued me from two dogs that had me pinned down in front of our homes. More memories than there is room for here. A kind, devote, and bright man you will always be in my heart. - Posted by: Lynn Campbell (Friend) on: Dec 02, 2024
