SHARON LYNN MCFETRIDGE

(née LIEBERMAN)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon McFetridge on November 27, 2024, with her family by her side. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, Nana, and friend.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert McFetridge, daughter Jodi McFetridge (Andreas Papadopoulos), grandsons, Alexander and William, brother Greg Lieberman (Nancy), nieces and nephews, Mark and Lisa Lieberman, Aven Reid (Chris), Sean and Taylor (Lane) McFetridge, and many loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Irene Lieberman, brother-in-law Glenn McFetridge (Marjorie), and cousins, Mildred, Percy and Ricky Devins (Bud). She was a friend to many and will be missed by all.

Sharon will be remembered for her selfless, loving and kind nature. Sharon and Robert shared a long and loving marriage, filled with laughter; Robert made her laugh every day and Sharon’s laughter will forever live in our memories. They built a loving home for their daughter, Jodi, and were always present for her. As much as Sharon loved being a wife and mother, nothing brought her greater joy than being a Nana to her beloved grandsons, Alexander and William, whom she adored. She showered them with love, affection and homemade cookies. Sharon visited them frequently and she delighted in hearing stories about “her guys” and could never get enough photos and videos of them.

At Sharon’s request, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. The family would like to thank the 6E nursing staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Sharon during her final days.

If friends so desire, donations in Sharon’s memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

May she rest in peace.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My sincere condolences to Robert, Jodi and families. Sharon was one of my dearest friends from The Body Shop years, she would always laugh at my Lac du Bonnet stories. Her line was “ok love, tel me…”❤️. I’m again so sad to hear the news of her passing and she will be greatly missed😔😢 - Posted by: Jaime Pineau (Friend ) on: Dec 28, 2024

  • Bob. Jodi and family: Very sad to hear of Sharon's passing. Sharon was one of my first employees and I have nothing but fond memories of a talented and beautiful lady. Suzanne just commented that during your vist to our place, just before I was transferred to Vancouver, how cute it was to see Jodi with her head on Sharons knees being fed her dinner. Our deepest condolences to you and your entire family. -Laurence & Suzanne Tkach - Vancouver - Posted by: Laurence Tkach ("Boss" - friend) on: Dec 23, 2024

  • So sorry to hear of Sharon's passing. I remember her fondly when you lived next door to my grandmothers home on Enniskellin Avenue, going back over 50 years! I remember her as a loving mother, wonderful dedicated daughter and a good wife. My sincere condolences. - Posted by: Nathan Blumes (Luffman) (Neighbors) on: Dec 20, 2024

  • Bob: I am so sorry to learn of Sharon's death. I knew that she had had past health concerns but I did no appreciate that she was ill recently. I remember her from our dinner together when my wife and I left Winnipeg and came out to the coast to live. I really enjoyed that evening with the two of you and, of course, our too few meetings when I had occasion to return to Winnipeg on personal matters. Please pass on my condolences to Jodi and her family. Best wishes to you. Bob Goodwin - Posted by: Bob Goodwin (Friend) on: Dec 07, 2024
