JOSEPH LEO BENOIT

November 12, 1979 -

November 25, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our beloved Joseph.

Raised in Winnipeg, Joe was a proud Fort Rouge boy! The youngest of three siblings, he was a kind, thoughtful, considerate, and hard working young man. Joe had many plans and aspirations for himself and for those he loved. He enjoyed music, nature, and the simple things in life. After some rough patches, growth and perseverance, Joe followed in his father's footsteps and began a passionate career as a truck driver. Joseph had a very special bond with animals. He recently rescued a dog named Mila. "He and his dog understood each other and were good friends!"

Greatly mourning Joe's passing are his parents (Ruby and Bob), siblings (Mel and Rob), nieces (Alisha, Winter and Rowan), children (Joseph and Kyle) (Chanse and Rielly), partner (Jill), granddaughter (Rose), numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers (Reimer Soils) and Mila.

In honour of Joseph, a Celebration of Life remembrance gathering will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, between 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lord Roberts Community Centre located at 725 Kylemore Avenue.

The family encourages the sharing of your stories and memories.

Please consider making a charitable donation in Joe's memory to a local animal shelter.

THE ROAD TO ETERNITY

Life is but a stopping place,

A pause in what’s to be,

A resting place along the road

To sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

Different paths along the way,

We all were meant to learn some things,

But never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place

Far greater than we know,

For some, the journey’s quicker,

For some, the journey’s slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

We’ll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,

Together with the Lord.
