KERRI ANDERSON

With great sadness we announce the quiet passing of Kerri Joy Anderson on December 3, 2024. Kerri was born February 16, 1961, in Beausjour MB. She leaves behind her partner of 30 years Garth Thomson. Her sisters Sheila (Wayne) and Melanie (Kevin) and brothers Wayne (Glenda), Randal and Cory (Roberta) as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews as well as many friends.

Kerri was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Lorena Anderson as well as brother Darrell and sister Shannon.

Kerri's early life was spent in Grand Marais on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. Her time here was spent playing with her siblings and her many friends and family that also grew up in the area. One of her fond memories was delivering papers with her brother Wayne providing her with direction. As Kerri got older, she enjoyed pitching for the local women's softball team the Rioters. Many a tournament was won by team and they had many a tale to tell. Also during this time, she enjoyed curling which she still enjoyed watching to this day.

Kerri's education took her from Walter Whyte School to Selkirk for her formidable high school years. Upon completion Kerri moved to Winnipeg to begin her working girl life. She bunked with her sister Sheila during this time and again many a tale has been told. She eventually found employment at Air Canada and also with the CRA. Over time she ended up with a career at CRA and retired from there in 2021.

Kerri loved to travel and got the bug while working at Air Canada where she had the opportunity along with her sister to visit Hawaii for 3 weeks. Since then, Kerri was able to travel to many destinations around our globe as well as coast to coast in Canada. In her retirement she loved to Golf and spend time at our place on Black Sturgeon Lake.

Many thanks to the staff of 5E at the St. Boniface hospital your care and compassion was not unnoticed. To her niece Shantel for those long nights, you spent in the hospital. Also, all the love and encouragement from family and her two dear friends Sandy and Colleen.

A memorial service will happen in the spring of 2025.
