ANGELA DALLINGER MILLER

It is with deep sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, Angela Dallinger Miller, on November 30, 2024.

She leaves behind to mourn her son Randy (Laurie), daughter Linda (Mike), grandchildren, Kurtis, Dane, Nicole (Brett), Danielle (Ryan), Emma (Joe), Lucien (Lauren), Chloe (Daniel), Noah (Jacynth), Joel (Brielle), Jessica and Colin; her brother Bryan (Margo), sister Iris, and many cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews as well as many cherished friends and neighbours. Angela was predeceased by her first husband, David Dallinger, and her second husband, Garth Miller.

Angela was born February 27, 1929 and grew up in the north end of Winnipeg with her parents, three sisters and one brother. After graduating from St. Johns High School, Angela worked in the Portage and Main branch of the Bank of Montreal. In 1952 she married her high school sweetheart, Dave Dallinger, and they enjoyed seven years of adventures together until the birth of their two children. They moved from Scotia Avenue to a new home in St. Vital, where they raised their family and where Angela continued to reside for the rest of her 95 years. Many happy family vacations were shared and the swimming pool in the backyard became a family haven and site of many fun gatherings over the years. Mom was always active and enjoyed her walks in St. Vital park right up until the last year, where she had many acquaintances and "park friends". Her interests of travel, sport and grandchildren filled many of her later years, as well as her love of the arts, knitting, puzzles and reading. She is lovingly remembered, forever missed, Mom, Angela, Munga.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. at 10:00 a.m.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I was so sad to hear of Angie's passing. I am also sorry that we missed the funeral yesterday and we would have attended. Angie was a wonderful neighbour and had been our neighbour since we moved into our house 32 years ago. I will miss our chats and visits we shared along the way. She was a kind hearted person and such a strong lady that just kept going no matter what lifes challenges got in her way! She was lucky to live such a long and wonderful life. She will be sadly missed by the neighbours of Cabot Crescent. - Posted by: Cheryl Bezte (Neighbour) on: Dec 18, 2024

  • My family and I send our deepest condolences to Randy and Linda and their families. I knew Mrs. Dallinger almost all my life. Randy and I were inseparable friends when we were young, and I spent countless hours at the Dallinger house, often for dinner or to watch Hockey Night in Canada with Randy and Mr. Dallinger. Their home was always welcoming to me. Many years later, Angela was as hospitable to my children, and later my grandchildren. She was quick to offer them a swim in the pool when we were there on a hot summer day. My kids felt special to have that connection with Angela. But most of all, I will remember Angela as an absolutely wonderful and devoted friend to my mom, Helen Sigurdson. There were many years when Angela and my mom saw each other, I think, pretty much every day. They had a bond that was truly special. I am grateful for Angela's friendship with Mom, but I do believe it was one of those remarkable connections that were mutually beneficial. It was a pure friendship. - Posted by: Richard Sigurdson (friend) on: Dec 14, 2024

  • Brian and I send our deepest Sympathies to Randy and Linda and all your family. We have many wonderful memories of Angela, for me going back over 60 years to more recent years when my family visited Winnipeg and enjoyed fun times in Angela’s pool! I used to babysit Randy and Linda and our families lives have been connected for many years as original Cabot families. Finally over many years and in particular in older age Angela and my Mom Helen Sigurdson enjoyed a close and supportive friendship. Angela was a wonder! - Posted by: Janine Lowes (Family Friend ) on: Dec 14, 2024
