Corey passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife Kate, his dad Roger (Patti), sister Cara, mother Alice Brown, stepsister Amber, stepbrother Ryan and sisters-in-law, Vicky and Johanna and also his puppy son Cooper. He is fondly remembered and loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends around the world.
Corey was a very talented musician, sketch artist, chef, published writer and lab scientist. He loved painting, chess, video games, writing and researching new ideas for his proposed book.
He was such a gregarious person with a smile that would light up the world. He simply loved meeting new people. He could make lasting friends out of complete strangers. He was a loyal, reliable, considerate, smart and generous person. He loved with all his heart and the words he lived by were, "If I can help...I will'.
Corey left an amazing impression on the people he met and this world. We will miss him profoundly and we will always carry him in our hearts.
A celebration of Corey’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family arrangement has been made for Corey’s remains.

I wish to convey my deepest and heartfelt condolances to his friends and family, may the memory of his life bring you all some solace in his passing. I didnt know Corey for very long, but he was an extremely likeable and outgoing person that was a pleasure to work with. Him and I got along right away. He was a heck of a chef and a great worker when he set his mind to it. I'll always remember the stories he would tell and his plans for the future. May he rest in peace, he will be missed. - Posted by: Chris Killen (Co-Worker from Pine Ridge) on: Dec 09, 2024

Kate, you haven’t left my thoughts since I heard the terrible news. I only got the pleasure of meeting Corey last year at your wedding but to see the way you lit up when he was around, I knew he was very special. To Corey’s family and friends, please accept my condolences for the loss of Corey. From reading his obituary, he lived a full and enriching life and he will surely be missed.
