MARIA GORETTI SOARES PEDRO

June 9, 1961 - November 18, 2024

Maria Goretti Soares Pedro, aged 63, of Snellville, Georgia, formerly of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed peacefully on November 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Maria was born on June 9, 1961, in Azores, Portugal.
Maria’s career was in the lighting industry, which she worked in for many years in Winnipeg, and continued along that path when she moved to the United States in 2003. Her greatest love was animals, especially her dog Mylo, her constant companion and protector. Her final wish was that he come back to Canada to be with family, specifically her niece Kiele. He is much loved and spoiled in his new home. She will be fondly remembered for her infectious laugh, outgoing personality, wild sense of style, and kind heart, always willing to help those in need.
Maria is survived by her sister Crisalida and brother Joe, sister-in-law Karen, nephews, Daniel and Darien, and niece Kiele, who will forever cherish their memories with her. She was preceded in death by her father Manuel and mother Maria.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Kildonan Community Church, 2373 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Winnipeg Humane Society.
Maria will be deeply missed, forever in our hearts, and always just a memory away.
