The family of Terence Edward O’Reilly III, sadly announce his passing on December 11, 2024. After suffering a stroke, he fought a courageous battle and is now at peace. Born on November 20, 1942, in Toronto he lived to see his final birthday, his 82nd, in London, Ontario.
Beloved husband of Marg for 55 years, loving father of son Brent and daughter Shauna (Jason), loving grandad to grandson True. Predeceased by his daughter, Kari (Dave). Dear brother to his only sibling, his sister Wendy.
Terry grew up in various locations in Ontario, born as a military son, most memorably living in London and Toronto. While living in Toronto he attended business school and obtained his degree. His true passion was always music and that is where his career choices ended up finding him strumming his guitar and singing down the path of. Early in his career, in the beginning years of touring, he met and fell in love with his wife, Marg, they married on April 19, 1969. Together they raised their family in Winnipeg where they remained until retirement when they moved to London, Ontario. Here they spent many years together with their daughter, son-in-law and grandson True whom Terry adored. Terry had a wonderful presence and was known and loved by many. He had a welcoming way to him, a friendly, outspoken manner that made you want to get to know him. He had a robust laugh and was always looking to make you laugh or smile. Most that met him often left as a friend. Terry had a strong faith and was raised Anglican, his belief in God carried him throughout his lifetime. He had a strong connection with the church and was a devoted and involved member serving on the church board. Terry worked as a musician in some manner throughout his career after starting his most successful band Harvest and spending time on the stage performing. He then started working as a booking agent, and together with friend and fellow musician Doug they opened their booking agency Showcase Productions. He later took a position at the Winnipeg Convention Centre as the Director of Promotions where he finished out his career until retirement.
Terry was most well-known by all who knew and loved him for his love of music. It is what moved his heart; listening to it, playing it, enjoying it right up until his final days. To the many friends and fellow musicians that he shared the stage with and those he spent many musical moments and times with, he would wish you to know he cherished his memories of all of you. We are sad you are no longer with us, but find comfort that you are at peace now. You will be remembered by many and missed by us all. Knowing you are out on this newest journey, in your often-parting words…
Cheers to you, Dad.
I'll remember too
Your voice as soft as the
warm summer breeze
Your sweet laughter, mornings after Ever after, I'll remember you
- Elvis

I’m so saddened to hear the news about Terry… hard to believe. Our thoughts are with Marg, Brent, Shauna and family. Terry was certainly a driving force in the music scene in Manitoba. He worked tirelessly promoting up and coming musicians from our fair province. He has now joined the great number of musicians that have preceded him. There will be a heck of a jam going on in the heavens. RIP Terry…. we will miss you!! Give Kari my love! - Posted by: Donna Rodericks (Friend) on: Dec 14, 2024
