Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN BYZUK
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on December 15, 2024, at the age of 88.
Helen was born on January 16, 1936, and grew up on the family farm in Birds Hill. At the age of 18, she married her soulmate Steve, who predeceased her in 2010 after 56 years of a beautiful life together. Her parents Edna and Stanley, and siblings Eddie and Henry also predeceased her.
Mom took great joy in the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed sipping a cup of coffee, listening to music, going to the casino, keeping abreast of the news, or spending time with family on the deck with a glass of wine. She also enjoyed watching curling, the Blue Bombers and was an avid Jets fan.
Mom's most precious moments were those she spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The times spent together at the Lake will always remain some of the fondest memories we have and will stay in our hearts forever.
Left to cherish her memories are her two children, Michael (Debbie) and Karen (Mark); her five grandchildren, Brock (Shannon), Shane (Kim), Darrell, Troy (Brooke) and Jace; her great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan, Colbie, Adelyn and Lily. Helen is also survived by two siblings and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Helen's life will be celebrated privately at a later date.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and health care support workers at Beausejour Hospital for their compassion and outstanding care.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Society of Manitoba or to a charity of one's choice.
