I had the honour of toasting Tamara at her wedding to Glen. I was always recall her fierce spirit and wry wit. She would always make me laugh. Returning to Winnipeg years later I discovered-by accident-that Glen and Tamara were living across the street from my parents in River Heights. That was the occasion for a reunion after many years. Glen and Tamara opened their home and circle of friends to me when I returned to Winnipeg in 1992. I will never forget their warmth and friendship. It was no different when we were reunited almost 25 years later. My dear Glen, my thoughts are with you and your daughters. Deon - Posted by: Deon Ramgoolam (Friend) on: Dec 30, 2024

When James first told me about Tamara I contacted "my horse family" at LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society & gave a donation ( a letter will be coming Jim for you & Carol to share because as the oldest living grandchild of (the late) William John & Mary Portree I know that it's all about the horses- I remember a vibrant young woman, ready smile & infectious laugh...beyond the sting/searing pain of loss there is love & memory for they are greater than death...Donna & Marita Portree - Posted by: Donna Gail Portree (2nd cousin) on: Dec 21, 2024
