With deep heartache we announce that our precious Kev slipped away from us peacefully, yet unexpectedly at home.
Kev will be forever loved and missed by his parents, Dwayne and Joan; brothers, Mike, Matt and Craig (Adam); his Granny, Inga Haas; niece Ava, and favourite little guys, Dustyn, Benz and Charlie. Kevin will also be remembered by his Aunt and Uncle Kerry and Glen, cousins, Brent, Meghan and their families; Uncle and Aunt Lorne and Maureen, cousins, Chelsea, Andrea, Trevor and their families; great-aunts, Margaret and Davilyn, and their families, as well as many other family members and friends.
Kev was predeceased by his Gramps, Alfred Haas; Amma and Afi Ruth and Roy Anderson, and other loving family members. He was also predeceased by many good friends, including Christian, who was like a brother to Kev and Mike.
Born and raised in St. James, Kev had a joyful childhood. The friendships he made throughout his school years lasted his lifetime. Kev excelled in all sports - particularly hockey, which was his passion. On the ice he was admired by coaches and teammates alike. Kev held various jobs as a young man, but found his calling when he started his own business, Dump Dynasty. His happiest days were spent in Gimli and Camp Morton with his family, and when he was old enough to drive, he made lasting memories here with friends, fishing, dirt biking and camping. Kevin shared a special and unique bond with each of his brothers, who will miss him dearly.
The family offers their deepest gratitude to the numerous healthcare professionals who cared for Kevin over the years. Although Kevin lived with Type 1 Diabetes since childhood, and was attending dialysis at Health Sciences Centre - the family asks that any donations be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation. Kevin had a heart as big as the sky - and despite his own health challenges, he always felt more compassion for the little ones he'd see around the hospital.
A Celebration of Kevin will be held Saturday, July 19 at 1:00 p.m., at the Heritage Victoria Community Club (950 Sturgeon Road).
Kev - thank you for being the most loving son, brother and grandson.
We love you, and will carry you in our hearts forever and always.
Goda Nott Elskan

I’m so sorry to Kevin’s family over this news. Kev was one of my best friend in high school and I’ll always cherish those memories with him. From late nights at flying J’s and our talks at pancake house and sals. I’ll be thinking of him and his family often. Big hugs to you all.
