DIANE GOUSSEAU
Diane was born August 11, 1924, to Arthur and Emma Beaudry (née Préfontaine).
Born at home in Saint Eustache, MB, the 11th of 12 children, she was a tiny baby of only four pounds. Under her mother’s tender care, Diane became healthy and strong and lived 100 years.
In 1945 she married Eugène Gousseau; they farmed together in St. Norbert and were married 50 years. Maman was devoted to and is survived by her eight children, Agnès, Louise Granger, Jeanne, Cécile (Jean-René Nicolet), Marcel (Audrey Thompson) Florence (Lorne Robinson), Hélène and Henri, as well as 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Diane loved music and always played the radio while she worked. For a time, she sang with the church choir. Maman and Papa were avid baseball fans and there were many exciting hours watching their beloved Blue Jays on TV.
Maman spent her last years at Cathedral Manor assisted living and then at Foyer Valade Personal Care Home. Sincere thanks to everyone who cared for her over those years.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Norbert Catholic Church, 70 rue St. Pierre, St. Norbert, MB. with a reception to follow in the church hall.
Rest peacefully dear Mother,
in the arms of Jesus.
